The Coalition for Animals has developed a new draft of the Animal Protection Act. This is a civic project.
According to Polish law, in order for a bill to be voted on in the Sejm, the following conditions must be met:
1. The Legislative Initiative Committee must collect at least 1,000 signatures for the draft and send them to the Marshal of the Sejm.
2. The Marshal of the Sejm shall issue a decision on accepting the notification within 14 days, and then announce in a national daily newspaper the fact that the Committee has acquired legal personality, the address of the Committee and the place where the bill is available for public inspection.
3. The bill must be signed by at least 100,000 people who have the right to vote for the Sejm within 3 months of the registration of the committee.
Point 1 is already implemented - over 1,800 signatures have been collected.
