\nAustralian Labradoodle Donnan - a perfect dog :) Quite recently we went to a workshop organized by Everest Szczyt Pogranicza on tracking. Donnan's nose works for 2 hours straight. The brave dog did not mind even the snow that stuck to the fur. There was a lot of snow and the trails were getting longer. Next time we don't leave the house without a professional suit...
\nDonnan always followed the trail beautifully and the reward for finding the toy was playing with it with the guide. However, we began to notice that the toy itself stopped giving him joy. He tracked because that was his job, but did he enjoy it? I am far from having a dog do something for my pleasure only. The joy is supposed to be mutual and due to the need to realize what is natural for the dog, even greater for Donnan.
\nDonnan is a dog very focused on the handler and there is no greater joy for him than being able to spend time with him. The quick intervention of the trainer made Donnan regain the joy of tracking and he does it even better faster, with greater precision and at the end of the road awaits him the greatest joy. At the end of the trail, there is no longer a toy waiting for him, but a man who is such a strong reinforcement for him. Donnan, tracking, runs with a smile on his "face", and since then, a live helper has been constantly participating in the training ... photos below.
\nWhen training your dogs, remember that food (treats) will not be the best reward for everyone. Each of us should find the greatest motivation to work for our dog. <\/p>\n
